The Coin Ticker is a free iPhone application that includes timely tracking (every few minutes) of 18 digital currency values against bitcoin BTC value and US Dollar (default) or set your own local currency for:

Bitcoin, Ripple, Litecoin, Namecoin, PPCoin, Terracoin, Feathercoin, Devcoin, Novacoin, Freicoin, Ixcoin, CHNCoin, BBQcoin, BitBar, YaCoin, MinCoin, WorldCoin, and DigitalCoin.

The app provides the ability to create and track your personal portfolio of digital currency holdings.

You can donate bitcoin to the developer for use of the application if you find it valuable (I do for a quick look at the market), but the app does come with the disclaimer:

“Data is gathered from public APIs of several websites.  We do not verify any data and disclaim any obligation to do so.”

So I wouldn’t base my buy/sell decisions solely on this smartphone application.
